Mike - Vocalist / Rhythm Guitar

Mike grew up in Illinois and played in his first band "The Tenders"
in 1965 at the age of 13. He had only started playing bass 3 weeks
earlier. With just 2 weeks of practice they played their first gig,
a Sock-Hop at their Jr. High. They only knew about 12 songs, so,
they played them over and over. He was hooked! He played with them
for about 2 years, then more important things took over his life. (girls)
He jammed from time to time , but, didn't join a band until 1971.
He helped form a band called "Boondoggle". (a wasteful or impractical
project or activity often involving graft - Webster's) Unfortunately, no one knew what the name meant, and often called them "Moon Doggies" etc.
In 1975 he Joined "Faze" later to become " Rhythm City" a show band
that Played Disco/Funk with a variety of other music, then in their
last set, appeared in leather jackets and jeans as " King and
the Angels", a 50's show. They traveled the Midwest playing
Ramada Inns, Holiday Inns, etc. 6 nights a week. In 1977
he moved to Pa. with his wife and 3 children. He joined a
church and started playing worship music. He was in a variety
of Christian bands over the years. Most recently, "Theophony"
and "Extol" in the mid to late 1990's. In 2007 he decided to try a
secular band again. He auditioned for and joined Flashpoint in
Dec. of 2007. He still plays and sings on the Worship Team
at his church. (Pinchot Park A/G) Mike also plays in a blues
band called " The Disturbinators". Mike plays Bass and rhythm
guitar, sings lead and backup harmonies. He's having a blast
with Flashpoint. He's enjoying making music with a great
group of guys. Mike left the band for a while but,
stayed friends and is back now playing rhythm guitar,
singing lead and backup harmonies.
